is a great news story that highlights some of the reasons why we have so much food waste. Some similar thoughts struck me when we were in Normandy this year. The French but from local stores, who sell local produce. It is delicious and they are proud of it. We ate so much local, fresh produce that was simply cooked and just delicious. It is such a shame that we have seen the demise of the local butcher, bakery, greengrocers and fish mongers, which, in my opinion has contributed to the move of food around the globe and the loss of local farming. There are some positives in that we get ‘exotic’ food all year round but I am not convinced that, in hindsight, this was such a positive step. Just some ‘food’ for thought.
